Happiness is a Holga!

Ok, so I’ll admit it…since getting back into film, I can’t get enough of it! I recently have been without my beautiful medium format pro film camera while it was being repaired, so in desperation I thought, “Hey! Why not try the Holga?!” What’s a Holga, you ask? It’s literally a $30 piece of plastic…a toy camera if you will. I know lots of photographers have fun with it, so I was like, hey! Why not? So, I took it with me to Virginia over the weekend. Though the photos are grainy, artistic and beautiful in their own way, I deeply missed my baby in repair. Still… it captured, in it’s own way, the beauty of some of the old chruches, homes and the beautiful vegitation. I’m glad I had it with me, and will take it again. With that being said, I am officially enamored with some of the beautiful little towns and back country of Virginia. I can hardly wait to get back! I am amazed at how peaceful and beautiful everything is. There were times that we’d be driving past an old house or church and it was almost as if I could feel and imagine what it would have been like in the 1920’s or 1930’s…. a time which I would so want to go back to and experience if I could. Here are a few of my favorites along the way…

Until we meet again, Virginia…. it was lovely to have spent time with you!
